Bought this to replace a worn out mixer tap. Attracted by the Easyfit option but it didn’t work for me as we have a cermic sink which is about 10mm thick at the tap hole, unlike metal sinks which are probably 1-2mm. As a result the easyfit option of rotating the tap base through the tap hole would not work. The instructions are clear on the alternative method and that worked once I had a second pair of hands to help, I couldn’t do it on my own. I had to buy some separate flexi tap tails with pushfit connectors to get it plumbed in as that was the option from removing the old tap. The instructions say not to overtighten the tap tails into the tap (which is sensible), so I only did them up hand tight but when water was turned on I had a small leak so used a spanner to further tighten the tap tails into the tap. Unfortunately our sink has a radius curve upwards just behind the tap, so the ring which goes around the tap base is not quite flat and the gap will inevitably attract dirt and some mould which will need to be maintained, but overall I am very happy with a nice smooth new tap and no plumber bill for fitting.

I bought the tap after our last tap failed. Having fitted sink taps before I knew how fiddly these can be to replace. I saw a video of the Bristan easy fit and decided to give it a try. It wasn’t cheap and could have got one for half the price but was wary of the quality. I have fitted a Bristan bath filler and that has been fine. The hardest part is getting the old standard fittings off. Namely the nut(s) under the sink. I bought a set of tap box spanners for £10 which made that job a lot easier. Fitting the new tap was pretty straight forward as it is secured from the top. The tap body is secured with 2 small grub screws. TIP ** put the plug or something similar in the plug holes so you don’t drop anything down the drain. The tap came with two flexible hoses which are easy to screw in from below. In the future if I need to replace the tap if I get an easy fit it would just mean taking the tap body off from the top. No need to contort under the kitchen cupboard. The product also comes with a 5 year warranty which I registered on line at Bristan.

My plumber told me, whatever I bought, NOT to buy an “easy fit” tap because they are actually difficult to fit.
So I spent ages looking for a Bristan tap that was not “easy fit”. I saw another Monza Monobloc design that was billed as “easy fit” and then saw this one. It said nowhere on the listing that it was “easy fit” and I even checked the serial number, which was different to the “easy fit” version.
But lo and behold when it arrived it had “easy fit” in big letters on the box.

I’m yet to have it fitted (so what the plumber makes of it remains to be seen) but I’m disappointed that despite searching high and low for a non-easy fit tap I liked the look of, I ended up with one anyway.

It looks nice, so here’s hoping…

My plumber fitted it and he obviously had no problems. Good value for money, very smooth action and looks good

This product replaced a previous mixer tap which leaked badly and I was unable to replace the ceramic cartridges. The bristan that replced it is a good quality mixer tap and was relatively easy to fit as the fitting instructions were well laid out in graphic form.

A very good tap working well and practical in use. ‘Easyfit’ might be a bit optimistic, but it’s a clever system. Before removing any old tap, it’s worth checking the length of the flexible hoses supplied with this tap, and make sure they will reach your chosen connection point. No kitchen tap is easy to fit because they always involve a certain amount of crawling under the sink. You do have to get underneath to screw in the flexible tails and that can’t be done before you’ve fitted the brass base unit and dropped in the ‘plain inlet connector’. The fun starts when you have to connect up the flexible hoses to your water supply without disturbing any existing joints. You need two spanners, probably adjustable. Good luck with that one. Once fitted, the tap would be easily replaced with one with the same fitting system, but based on my experience with Bristan taps, this should see me out.

This is an attractive kitchen mixer tap, with a nice elegant design. It feels well-constructed and is nicely finished. As of now (very new) the flow from both hot and cold taps can be very finely controlled. This tap can be used on both high and low pressure water systems. For people in the UK, it’s worth noting that (according to plumbers, at least) Bristan taps are easy to repair as they age, as the spares are readily available and easy to identify, unlike many similar taps imported from Europe (Italy mainly), where if your 5- or 10-year-old tap starts to leak, you’re likely to need to buy a whole new one as your UK plumber will not be able to find spares.

  8. Peter Walters (verified owner)

A lot cheaper than other similar taps.

  9. Janet from Medway (verified owner)

Delivered on time sink mixer fine with the exception of some small scratches around base. Not bad enough to go to the bother of asking for a replacement tho!

  10. Christopher Robb (verified owner)

Product appears well made and was easy to fit. However the first one had a leaking cold water tap and we had to get a replacement.

Other reviews had said that the tap was slow to switch off, continuing to dribble water for much longer than you would expect. That is not really a problem. However the tap has now developed an annoying additional “function” of suddenly spurting out a considerable amount of water every 30 or 40 minutes. I just cannot understand what is going on as it does not drip in between….

I would find a different tap if buying again.

Top of the range designer Bristan tap with quality oozing out at a reasonable price.

  12. joyce hare (verified owner)

not much to dislike, looks good heavy metal, goes together well, everything in the fixing kit, easy fit from top.

  13. Derek Shannon (verified owner)

Nice modern tap, leaking after 18 months…. not 100% if that would be classed as ideal nor what I should expect from a tap

  14. Ian Rimmer (verified owner)

Definitely a high quality product. Fitted by a local plumber who recommends Bristan. You can feel and see it’s well made and comes with everything needed to install. Great discount too!

  15. George (verified owner)

    All fitted and working fine

  16. Mart (verified owner)

I am very disappointed with this product – it has broken within 2.5 years of it’s instillation, and along with the cost of having it fitted was an expensive mistake!

Updated: Bristan supplied spare parts under warranty that fixed the tap. So I would be happy to move from one star to 4 stars. They had very good customer service.

  17. OldLady (verified owner)

The tap arrived promptly and looked good (hence three stars). Unfortunately, search for fitting advice on YouTube
turned up three videos claiming that the tap might fall off and flood the kitchen due to problem with grub screws.
We didn’t dare take the risk and so returned it

  18. Paul C. King (verified owner)

Arrived quickly. Took the old dripping one out, then this one in. Works a treat and no dripping. value I thought was expensive for a tap. Looks the part though very shiny. After a few days pressure appears down but that makes it very quite.

Better off buying a conventional fitting tap. If the sink stiffening plate is used you effectively fit the tap from undersink anyway. Secondly the tap is fastened from the top with two small grub screws. It is essential to ensure these are tight and then cocked regularly. If they loosen the tap could come off and water will just pour out.

I fit a lot of taps, it’s how I make a living. The new Easyfit system from Bristan is genius, it makes tap fitting much easier, no more squeezing an arm into the back of the sink.

A definite thumbs up from me

  21. mary cooper (verified owner)

Very easy to fixing, looks and works well

  22. Paula (verified owner)

Looks nice, easy to clean but doesn’t seem particularly sturdy.
It is a little wobbly at the base.

  23. SteveN (verified owner)

Bought this as my plumber recommended Bristan Easyfit to replace our dripping kitchen tap. One advantage of fitting an Easyfit tap is that when it does come to replace it, the installation process is much easier, quicker, and hopefully cheaper.
This tap came with a 10 year guarantee. It is robust & well-styled. I was somewhat concerned by some of the negative reviews posted about Easyfit taps but have not experienced the phenomenon of the tap dripping after having been used.
Bristan appear to be a highly reputable company with robust Customer Service back-up. So far, so good.

The name says it all. Well worth paying for over cheap copy type versions .

I bought this black tap to replace an old leaking chrome tap (once upon a time you could fix a leaking tap by changing a washer and it would cost you 10p). The black tap looks great in my kitchen. It was easy to fit although removing the old tap was a real pain!

  26. R. Bridge (verified owner)

After dealing with trying to fix a dripping tap for over a year, finally cracked and bought a new tap, plumber recommended this brand to me rather than buying cheaper options that were available because these never cause him work to be called out for by clients.

Very happy with it, so much better than my new build old tap, weirdly quiet water as tap doesn’t splash with a rushing sound of water if that makes sense?

  27. husain (verified owner)

    It’s great to use

  28. michael j nolan (verified owner)

Appears excellent quality even came with isolation valves which plumber said he had never seen before

  29. Tessa Dallyn-Roberts (verified owner)

The plumber sorted and fitted in a short time. Worked from top of installation instead of underneath. Brilliant.

Next day delivery and very well packed. This really is a great product

  31. mike mulraney (verified owner)

The tap came swiftly with a set of instructions .The tap seems to be of good quality and finish and was easy to fit .

  32. Keith Sharpe (verified owner)

Delivery very prompt and well packed would give 5 stars. Tap Is very good and easy to fit however does tend to run on for 2 to 3 seconds this I was informed is normal for this type of tap.

  33. RxD (verified owner)

This was so good and easy to fit that we bought another! Easy to fit, be sure you don’t need longer tails than what is supplied and you’ll be very happy. Time will tell how long this lasts in hard water areas.

  34. F (verified owner)

This was a replacement tap fitted to a stainless steel sink. The product is really well designed, especially the base fitting. The pack contained everything, including the extra plastic washer for thin stainless sinks (despite the instruction booklet saying ‘not supplied’ – it was there). The instructions are clear and easy to follow. This is probably the easiest plumbing job I’ve ever done! The tap looks great too.

  35. C.W. (verified owner)

Good quality product, arrived in a timely fashion

  36. scott warn (verified owner)

Great quality tap & easy to fit

  37. Hamish Bankfoot (verified owner)

Easy to use, very practical and attractive.

  38. Graham Carlisle (verified owner)

It’s not that easy to fit to be honest. It’s a bit flimsy and the water doesn’t stop instantly at times. We’ve had at least 3 overflowing sinks because you just can hear it filling.
